Feed the Healers

The Salt Air Gardeners  was looking for a way to honor and support the hardworking medical community during the Covid-19 crisis.  The garden club supports many community projects each year and wanted to find a way to support workers on the front lines.  The group of 48 people quickly looked to Beebe Medical Foundation on how to help.

Through the “Feed the Healers” initiative, the Salt Air Gardeners donated $1,250 to Bethany Blues to fund meals for Beebe hospital personnel.  Beebe Hospital personnel can purchase food at the Bethany Blues Lewes location using the donated funds by showing their badge.

Salt Air Gardeners President Lois McNamara said “Through our many beautification projects we have given back to the community at large and our own neighborhood.  Our generous contributions at the holidays have provided many meals for those who can’t feed themselves. In a matter of days, we collected $1,250 to help our medical personnel in this great crisis.”
Oksana Hoey, Treasurer presented the donation to Jessica Nathan, Director of Operations for Bethany Blues on Saturday, March 28, 2020.

In addition to thanking Beebe staff, the donation also has a benefit of supporting a local restaurant during this crisis.
The Beebe Medical Foundation Covid-19 Relief fund has been set up to accept monetary donations and many needed items.  For more information on how others can contribute, visit https://www.beebehealthcare.org/covid19-relief.
